OpenBank - Highest Yield Savings Account No One Is Talking About (and why)

I have searched high and low and switched high yield savings accounts more times than I can remember. From Robinhood to Betterment to my local credit union then SoFi - NONE of them compare to my current one.

All of the above were paying high APYs or will pay a high APY and then drop it after a three month introductory rate. Most of these companies are betting that once you go through all the work of switching you wont want to switch again just to increase by .10% or .15% - but thats where they're wrong, at least with me.

Let your money work for you and trust me I know there isn't piles of extra money laying around, but as my mom used to say - every little bit helps. And though it is a pain to move money in and out and curiously takes much longer than any other high yield I have used, I believe this is worth it.

For your best bang for YOUR money try Openbank.

Openbank isn't a fly by night internet bank, it's backed by one of the oldest in the biz - Santander. It consistently pays out well above any other high yield savings account - but is not listed in any Google search I do and isn't on any list I see and search for elsewhere. When you google high yield savings accounts a bunch of others come up paying much lower than Openbank.

The reason you don't see it come up in those searches is because they don't have an affiliate program that pays out commission on every lead generated to their site - but I am not concerned about that in this article. I'm just giving you directly what I use and have found to payout the highest.

Even if you only have a few bucks to start with, why not get the most for your money rather than the measly .05% at best you get elsewhere.

As of writing this Openbank is paying out 3.85% APY. Others offer higher , 4% or even 4.25% but it is only good for a few months. If you want to start with those then switch after the introductory fee is up, go for it, but switching is a pain in the but.
